It is classic timing device used in physics experiments to study motion. It features a spring-mounted steel vibrator arm with a contact connected in series with a solenoid. As the arm vibrates, the marking point at its free end strikes a moving paper tape through a carbon paper disc, creating a dot with each oscillation. These marks allow measurement of time intervals and motion patterns. The unit operates on a 6–9V, 1A AC power supply.
