This galvanometer is a versatile, mains-operated instrument also capable of running on a 6-volt battery. It features a built-in light source and scale housed in a durable bakelite case. The highly sensitive moving coil is suspended by a taut band within a uniform magnetic field. With a 150mm scale marked for both center and end zero use, it is ideal for precise D.C. null detection in Wheatstone bridges and potentiometers

Technical Specifications

  • Applications: Widely used as a D.C. null detector in Wheatstone bridges and potentiometers.
  • Power Supply: Operates on 220V AC mains (50Hz) or a 6V battery, with provisions for both power sources.
  • Light Source: 6V, 0.3A bulb providing a bright spot for clear scale reading.
  • Construction: Built-in lamp and scale, housed in a sturdy bakelite case.
  • Moving Coil System: Highly sensitive, suspended by a taut band in a uniform permanent magnet field.
  • Scale: 150mm long, marked for both center and end zero use.
  • Zero Adjustment: Spot of light can be precisely set anywhere on the scale using a zero adjusting knob.
  • Sensitivity Control: 2-pole, 6-way switch with positions D, 1/10, 1/100, 1/1000, and short circuit for variable sensitivity.
