It is designed for sectioning large blocks of paraffin- and resin-embedded material, including whole organs, for light microscopy. Its knife-holding clamps allow the blade to be offset in the direction of cut, providing a significant advantage when sectioning large or hard tissue blocks.

Technical Specifications

  • Heavy cast base, precision machined and ground; base and slider finished with durable powder-coated paint.
  • Smooth push-and-pull operation of the slider using an ergonomic operating handle.
  • Uniquely designed handle that automatically advances and retracts the specimen during forward and backward movement.
  • Automatic feed mechanism with micrometer feed adjustment from 0–20 µm or 1–50 µm in 1 µm steps, suitable for cutting large and hard paraffin specimens.
  • Heavy-duty construction to minimize vibration during sectioning.
  • Knife holder designed to accommodate a 200 mm microtome knife made from special tool steel.
  • Extra-wide object holder vice for secure specimen clamping.
  • Smooth and stable movement on stainless steel guide rails.
  • ISO 13485 certified.
