Digital Bomb Calorimeter

Model No: AGN-160

Digital Bomb Calorimeter is a high-precision device used to measure the heat of combustion of a substance. It operates by igniting a sample in a sealed, oxygen-filled chamber (the “bomb”) and digitally recording the temperature change in the surrounding water. This data is then used to calculate the energy content of the material, making it essential for fuel analysis, research, and educational purposes.

Technical Specifications

Digital Bomb Calorimeter

bomb calorimeter measures the heat of combustion (calorific value) of a substance, usually solid or liquid fuel, in a controlled environment.

🔧 Specifications:
Parameter Specification
Temperature Resolution 0.1°C
Temperature Accuracy ±0.1°C
Temperature Detector RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector)
Temperature Range Room Temperature (RT) to 99.9°C
Display 3 Digit LED
Calculation Method Manual
Power Supply 230V ± 10%, 50Hz
Water Equivalent (of Calorimeter) Measured during calibration (manual method)
Sample Weight Usually between 0.5–1.0 g (measured on a precision balance)
Accessories Included Typically includes: bomb vessel, crucible, ignition wires, oxygen filling apparatus, thermometer or temperature sensor, water jacket, stirrer, and connecting cables
🔬 Measurement & Calculation Process:

Weigh the Sample: A known weight (e.g., 0.8g) of the fuel sample is placed in the crucible.

Assemble the Bomb: The sample is placed in the bomb vessel, oxygen is added (~30 atm), and the bomb is sealed.

Immerse in Water Jacket: The bomb is placed inside the calorimeter, which is filled with a known mass of water.

Ignite the Sample: An ignition current passes through the fuse wire, combusting the fuel.

Record Temperature Rise: The RTD sensor detects the temperature rise in the water due to combustion.

📦 Standard Accessories (Typically Included):

Bomb vessel

Ignition wire (nickel-chromium or similar)

Crucible (nickel or stainless steel)

Oxygen filling kit

RTD temperature sensor

Water container/stirrer unit

3-digit LED temperature display unit

Power cable, fuse, and manuals

⚠️ Important Notes:

Ensure calibration with benzoic acid or a standard reference material for accuracy.

Always follow safety precautions when handling pressurized oxygen and ignition.
