Capacitance Bridge for Measurement of Unknown Capacitance
This bridge is designed for accurate measurement of an unknown capacitance value. The complete instrument is housed in a sturdy ABS plastic enclosure and incorporates all essential components required for bridge operation.
Built-in Features
AC Source: The bridge includes an internal 1 kHz sine-wave oscillator. An indicator lamp on the Bakelite panel shows the AC supply status, while two output sockets are provided for AC signal connections.
Null Detector: A sensitive digital null detector is integrated into the instrument for detecting very small AC signals and achieving precise bridge balance.
Circuit Layout: The circuit diagram is clearly displayed on the panel with a spacious layout to simplify operation and enhance understanding. Standard 4 mm sockets are provided for convenient wiring and interconnections.
Specifications
R₂: Three-decade resistance network with ranges of 10 × 1000 Ω, 10 × 100 Ω, and 10 × 10 Ω for accurate resistance adjustment.
R₁: Single-decade resistance dial with a range of 10 × 100 Ω.
C₁: Unknown capacitor whose capacitance is to be measured.
C₂: Two fixed, low-loss standard capacitors of 0.01 µF and 0.1 µF used as reference capacitors in the bridge circuit.
Additional Feature
External terminals are provided for easy connection of the unknown capacitor to be tested.
This setup offers a reliable and convenient method for determining unknown capacitance values with high accuracy in laboratory and educational applications.
