Viscosity Apparatus Stoke’s Method With Glass Tube

Model No: AGN-2520
This method is based on the application of Stoke’s law to the fall of spheres through the liquid. With the help of this apparatus, we can determine the viscosity of a transparent liquid like glycerine or caster oil. A corning glass tube of 35mm dia and one meter long is made to stand firmly in between two upright bars with the help of clamps on a heavy cast iron base. The lower side of tube is closed, whereas on the upper end a rubber cork with hole is provided. Supplied with medium wall borosilicate glass tube. Glass tube is graduated in centimeters from 0 to100 cm.

Product Description

The Viscosity Apparatus Stoke’s Method With Glass Tube from AGN Enterprises is designed to determine the coefficient of viscosity of a liquid using Stokes’ method. The apparatus provides a practical setup for studying the motion of a small spherical object through a viscous liquid and observing its terminal velocity. Schools, colleges, universities, physics laboratories, and engineering institutes use this equipment for practical fluid mechanics and viscosity experiments.

Viscosity Apparatus Stoke’s Method With Glass Tube Features

AGN Enterprises manufactures the apparatus using a transparent glass tube and durable laboratory components for clear observation and dependable experimental performance. Moreover, the glass tube allows students to observe the falling sphere as it moves through the liquid. Marked reference points help users measure the time taken by the sphere to travel a known distance. Students can then use the observations to calculate terminal velocity and determine viscosity using Stokes’ law. Furthermore, the sturdy construction supports repeated laboratory use and simplifies experiment setup.

Applications of Viscosity Apparatus

The apparatus supports experiments involving viscosity, terminal velocity, Stokes’ law, fluid resistance, and the motion of spherical bodies through liquids. In addition, students can study how viscous forces affect falling objects and compare experimental observations with theoretical calculations. Physics laboratories, engineering colleges, universities, and technical institutes use the equipment for practical demonstrations and laboratory training. Therefore, it provides an effective platform for understanding fundamental fluid mechanics and transport properties.
