Coil Condenser with interchangeable Joints

Model No: AGN-1262
Coil condenser, also known as a coiled distillate type condenser, is a laboratory glassware device primarily used to condense vapors back into liquid during distillation or reflux processes. Unlike standard condensers where the coolant flows around a straight inner tube, the Graham condenser features a tightly wound internal coil through which the vapor travels, while coolant circulates around the coil in the outer jacket. This design allows for a significantly greater cooling surface area, enhancing the efficiency of vapor condensation, especially for volatile substances.

Technical Specifications

  • Design: Long vertical tube with a tightly wound internal coil (Graham-type).
  • Cooling Coil: Inner coil allows coolant (usually water) to circulate and condense vapors around it.
  • Efficient Condensation: Offers high surface area for heat exchange, improving condensation efficiency.
  • Material: Typically made of borosilicate glass, resistant to thermal shock and chemical corrosion.
  • Orientation: Usually used in vertical orientation for distillation or reflux applications.
  • Coolant Flow: Coolant enters and exits through side arms, circulating through the inner coil.
  • Vapor Path: Vapors flow outside the coil and condense upon contact with the cooled surface.
  • Sizes: Available in various lengths and diameters to suit different lab setups.
  • Joints: Standard taper joints (e.g., 24/40) for compatibility with other glassware.
